What Is an Artwork Proof in Promotional Products?

An artwork proof is the visual checkpoint a customer reviews before a promotional product order moves into production.

It usually shows the selected product, the uploaded logo or design, placement, scale, color notes, and any production details the decorator or supplier needs to confirm.

Why Artwork Proofs Matter

A proof gives the customer a chance to catch problems before the order is produced. Logo size, placement, spelling, colors, and product choice can all be reviewed in one place.

That review step protects both the customer and the production team because the approved proof becomes the shared reference for the job.

What a Good Proof Should Include

A clear proof should identify the product, show the artwork on the item, include important production notes, and make the approval decision easy to understand.

How Promo Plus Helps

Promo Plus helps teams organize artwork, mockups, customer feedback, approvals, and production-ready files around the same project record.

That connected workflow makes it easier to keep everyone aligned from first proof to final handoff.

What should the customer check?

The customer should review the selected product, the artwork on each available side, and the intended size and placement. A clear proof lets the customer request a change while the design is still being reviewed rather than after production has started.

PromoPlus keeps comments and revision requests with the mockup version they refer to. If artwork changes, the project history keeps the earlier versions available and makes the current version clear to everyone involved.

What happens after the proof is approved?

The approval record identifies the accepted version and the decision date and time. Once approved, that version is locked against further edits. PromoPlus then generates a two-page production PDF: an approved product proof with item, decoration, imprint size, and colors, followed by a vector artwork inspection sheet.

That handoff gives decorators and production teams the approved artwork and placement context in one file. The proof remains the shared reference between the customer decision and the work that follows.
